Buildings designed to take full advantage of SIPs technology will be easier to build and more efficient. SIPs also have a natural modularization caused by the standard sizes of the panel faces. Buildings designed around this module require fewer panel cuts and simplify fabrication and erection.
TECHNICAL DETAILING CONSULTING
Architects and Engineers new to SIPs often need guidance in how to draw details that best reflect how SIPs integrate into the whole structure, and how adjacent materials can be fastened to the SIPs wall and roof panels. Our experience qualifies us to be such a guide.
MANUFACTURER SHOP DRAWING PRODUCTION
Manufacturers without in house capability for CADD production often want an experienced partner to provide drawings for use in their production facilities. They also appreciate the extent of our dimensioning so cuts and openings can be located accurately from rough opening data.
ERECTION DETAILS AND DRAWINGS
These drawings for use in the field by erection crews provide direction and sequencing information to minimize the time spent on site and gain efficiencies during the erection phase.
ADAPTATION OF PANELS TO EXISTING DESIGNS
Often a manufacturer is asked if their panels can be an alternate in lieu of traditional methods of construction. We can provide assistance in adapting panels to a building design that wasn’t originally intended to be panelized. This may include suggesting slight changes to the design to make best use of the panel modules; however, the flexibility of the SIPs system can usually be executed on even the most challenging of designs.
DESIGN AND TESTING OF FIRE RATED ASSEMLBIES USING SIPS
We have been involved in the design and testing of several fire rated SIPs assemblies. We have excellent rapport with testing agencies that can get your unique assembly certified. We can arrange the testing and develop criteria for test procedures, as well as observe during the testing process and oversee the final results.
HYBRID PANEL DESIGN AND TESTING
On occasion a client will have a unique panel system requirement such as fiber cement board (FCB) on one side and oriented strand board (OSB) on the other. We have also been involved with hybrid panels that are smooth finished on one side and have a patterned texture on the other. We can also laminate a variety of sheet goods to panels.
EXPERIENCED IN BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SIPS
For many years SIPs was used almost exclusively in residential construction. Now with the availability of cement based faces, projects requiring noncombustible materials can now have a SIPs system using CSIPs materials. Our experienced includes a wide variety of project types and architectural styles.
CONSULTING BY STATE LICENSED ARCHITECTS
Manufacturers sometime are required by certain jurisdictions to provide shop and erection drawings that are certified by a qualified design professional. We are licensed architects with national certification (NCARB) and hold multiple state registrations. We also have excellent relationships with consulting structural engineers that are very experienced in SIPs design and the shop drawing approval process.
CONSTRUCTION OVERSIGHT FOR PANEL INSTALLATION
We are not afraid to get our hands dirty and get into the trenches during a SIPs installation to oversee the erection and provide on site consulting and advice for those mechanics doing the erection. We can travel as required and assemble experienced erection teams as requested.
